SHOOT LIKE A PRO
Expert insight to help you take better nature shots when you’re out shooting with your Canon
1 Capture changing seasons
Nature presents photographic opportunities all year round, so be aware of the different chances available through the changing seasons, and plan ahead so you don’t miss an opportunity.
2 Close-up filters
Close-up filters screw into the front filter thread of a standard lens, allowing it to focus closer: they’re are an affordable way to go macro.
3 Turn stabilisation off
When shooting on a tripod, turn off any image stabilisation for the sharpest shots.
4 Overcast lighting
You don’t need perfect clear skies to take great nature shots: you can still take terrific images on overcast days with diffused sunlight.
5 Cheap backgrounds
When you shoot flowers indoors, you can prop up a coloured piece of paper or card behind your subject to give it a good kick of colour.
