The FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship 2024 South Zone 2W Qualifiers was successfully held at the Stella 23 Farms in Sarjapur.
Promoted by FB Motorsports, it had 140 participants for qualifying in 12 classes.
Highlight of the event was number of entries for the Ather 450X class which had over 20 entries in its debut one-make venture at Bengaluru.
Open class upto 550cc: Asad Khan from Chikkamagaluru won outright and was declared the fastest rider of the day as he clocked 7min 36.5sec, the best time of the day. The second finisher Suhail Ahmad from Bengaluru was 8sec behind him.
Nataraj R with over a second deficit came third. Sinan Francis missed the podium by half a second and Sanjay Somashekar with over three seconds difference was fifth.
Group A upto 550cc class only for privateers was won Sinan Francis, riding a Yamaha WR 450F as he defeated Nataraj R astride a KTM 450 EXC by 2seconds. Suhail Ahmed was further 5sec down but managed to settle for third. Asad Khan came fourth another 2-sec in deficit.
In the Open Class Up to 550cc, Bengaluru's Asad Khan (7:36.500) achieved the top position. Suhail Ahmad (7:44.500) followed closely in second while Nataraj R (7:45.600) completed the podium.
The 131cc upto 165cc class saw Yogesh P win the class with a time of 8:07:900 beating Abdul Rahman to second by a second.
Abdur Pasha with over 8-sec deficit finished third. Bharath L and Varun Kumar finished within the same second about 3-sec behind in that order.
In the 166cc to 260cc class, Coimbatore's Karan Kumar bagged the top slot as he managed to keep the Bengaluru boy Sachin D behind him by a mere half a second. Uday Kumar was 5-sec behind but was
comfortable enough to hold on to the podium. Sanjay Somashekar and Arun T finished in fourth and fifth positions respectively.
