Clarets manager wary of Canaries

BURNLEY boss Scott Parker has backed swashbuckling Norwich City to stake a claim for promotion this season.

The Canaries began the weekend as the second-highest scorers in the Championship and boast the division’s deadliest marksman in 15-goal Spaniard Borja Sainz.

So far, however, their attacking might has been undermined by wretched away form and a brittle backline that has shipped as many goals as sides in relegation danger.

That has resulted in a gradual drift away from the top six, but Parker - whose impenetrable Clarets visit Carrow Road this afternoon - has no doubt they will soon start climbing the table.

“Norwich are a good side,” said the former England midfielder, whose side were unbeaten in seven games ahead of the trip to Norfolk.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us at the weekend against a team that it’s very clear is going to be in and around it this year.
