Studio Beyond Pro: The new M1 Ultra Mac powerhouse
AppleMagazine #582
|AppleMagazine
Apple tore up the rulebook at its March Peek Performance event, introducing a range of new products including the Mac Studio and a stunning new Studio Display.
-
As well as a refreshed iPad Air and iPhone SE, the company lifted the lid on the M1 Ultra processor, giving users another reason to lock themselves into the Apple ecosystem for powerhouse performance.
PEEK PERFORMANCE
Apple’s March events are typically low-key affairs with smaller product announcements and upgrades. This year, Apple took a different approach, debuting a whole host of exciting new products to add to its Mac portfolio, giving consumers more choice than ever before. The firm started off the event with the news that Friday Night Baseball is coming to Apple TV+, before moving onto stunning new color options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. iPhone SE was next, with the third generation model launching with the A15 Bionic chip, a bigger battery, and 5G connectivity for the first time. The iPad Air was given a similar treatment with 5G connectivity, the M1 chip, with 64GB and 256GB configurations in five color options.
Apple also confirmed that iOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3 would be released in the coming days and confirmed that the Mac Pro would be given an overhaul - though did not go any further. Apple also took the decision to discontinue the 27-inch iMac from its product portfolio and introduced new color options for iPhone cases and watch bands. Tim Cook also announced HomePod mini would be coming to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
