Oktoberfest was back for another 18 days of happy beer drinking from September 16 to October 3, 2023, following the first post-Covid celebration of the previous year.

Oktoberfest 2023, the biggest celebration of beer, Bavarian culture, and fraternity in the globe, is ready to crush other celebrations and demonstrate how it's done right.

When it comes to exposing visitors to Bavarian culture, Oktoberfest may be an exciting occasion, but it can also be chaotic and challenging for the uninformed, especially after a few liters of Löwenbräu. Local beer, Lederhosen (traditional leather breeches), Dirndls (traditional Bavarian women's attire), regional eats, and music are the main attractions of this German event! On the Oktoberfest grounds, millions of people congregate each year. Festbier (festival beer) is the drink of choice as they visit beer tents furnished with seats, ride exhilarating carnival rides, and form friendships.

A SHORT HISTORY OF OKTOBERFEST: MILLING THE GRAIN FROM 1810

This German holiday has historical roots that date back to the 1800s. On October 12, 1818, King Ludwig I and Crown Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen were married in a formal ceremony. The royal celebrations, which featured horse racing, libations, and dancing, were open to Munich residents. The happy celebrations created such excitement that it ultimately turned into a yearly custom for the locals and was known as Oktoberfest.
