When it comes to parking, Michèle's not staying neutral about which sex is better on our roads!

Parallel UNIVERSE

Yesterday, I parked my car so gosh-darned perfectly, I wanted to high-five the older couple who witnessed it from the footpath. Not only was it a deft bit of manoeuvring, but the space was also right outside the door of the studio I was working at, in a neighbourhood where it is usually impossible to find a park. Suprisingly, this couple seemed less invested in the process – a neat parallel park into a tight space between two much larger cars.

In the absence of their approval, I messaged my friend in Wellington. Elizabeth and I met over our love of books and writing, but also discovered a shared passion for the perfect parallel park. Having noticed bystanders can be less likely to share our enthusiasm, we have taken to messaging each other after a particularly good one to share the joy.

Bend it like BECKHAM

I do yoga now. Yes, after many, many years of Megan gently prodding me toward bending my body, I made the decision to get on board. I was nervous about being involved with what might be just a passing fad. I mean, it's only been around for a few thousand years. Is it actually here to stay?
