Serving everyone with a smile, Heather Frank worked long hours as a waitress, a job she had known ever since graduating from Lake Mills High School in 1990.

Growing up with her family in Waterloo, Wisconsin, and Lake Mills, she was used to moving around from state to state.

Only, when her full-time job meant that she had the chance to become a waitress manager at Doug's Day Diner in Loveland, Greenley, in 2008, she jumped at the chance to do so.

Anything to share her sense of humour, kindness, and beaming smile with customers who quickly became her friends.

From that moment, she was coined as the 'Wonder Waitress', everyone knowing that she has a truly golden heart.

She had a natural affinity as a mother, too, caring for her son, Alexander.

In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, making plant stands, decorating, and cooking wholesome in both personality and her hobbies.

Only, behind closed doors, Heather's life wasn't all that it seemed.

Her relationship with Kevin Eastman, 50, was tumultuous and fraught.

For seven years, the pair were known to be on and off.

And when they were on, it was far from a loving relationship on Kevin's part.

He was controlling, jealous, and turned to domestic violence in an attempt to have Heather all to himself.

So, when Heather found her match after ending things with Kevin, it was like a breath of fresh air.

Stanley Scott Sessions, 53, was a long-time resident of Greenley, who had high spirits just like Heather.

He'd created quite a stir in the local town as a trumpet player performing with The Movers and Shakers.

Music truly was Scott's life, and he told people close to him he was happiest on stage performing for others.

Just like Heather, he loved to serve others and was always available for friends in need.
