Sip this before eating

Before sitting down to a meal, especially if you're having carbohydrate-heavy fare that could spike your blood sugar, sip on some apple cider vinegar (ACV). Shawn Rowland, M.D., says this easy trick "can help stabilize blood-sugar levels after eating." He recommends diluting 1-2 Tbs. of ACV into a glass of water and drinking it before meals. Also smart? Taking a brisk stroll after eating. "Doing so helps prevent blood-sugar spikes," Dr. Rowland adds.
