A New England, Devon
Volkswagen Camper and Commercial|Issue 152
The previous owner traded this bus in against a Volvo, and it appears that the dealer had no idea what it was or what to do with it.
DAVE RICHARDS
A New England, Devon

I saw it listed locally and went round to check it out. It was all pretty much standard and appeared to have lived a hard life, looking like it been stored outside”.

Anthony Gale had been looking for a bus for a while, his demands were not great. He was just after a RHD vehicle which was in reasonable condition, but the market was a little silly at the time.

“I saw a load of very rotten and overpriced wrecks before finding this early, late bay for sale on Autotrader. No-one looking for a bay ever looks on Autotrader, I’d never looked before, but somehow I followed a link & found a bus, just 4 miles away. It was very tatty inside, the paint was very faded, and there was a bit of rust here and there, but it looked to be pretty solid underneath where it matters. This was the bus that fitted the bill, ticked all the boxes and the deal was done, it even had an MOT.

Lance & Lisa Beaver tell the story of their...‘Old School' Westfalia Bay

The history of our bus is varied. I heard that it used to belong to a soccer player who lived in it for a while, and a tale of a cross country trip that was taken in it. Since we’ve owned it, we have been to numerous car shows with our car club Kahiko Kula and enjoy that immensely, but taking it camping is our joy.
