Watson-Marlow provides Dynamic Dosing Operations and Maintenance Savings to Tissue Manufacturer

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group’s extensive range of peristaltic hose pumps are being installed by a well-known European manufacturer of toilet & paper toilets in its production processes. The pumps, which comprise several APEX and Qdos models, are at present performing vital dosing operations, archetypally on a 24 hour basis. Both the stoutness and compact maintenance necessities of Watson-Marlow pumps have proved striking, while their innate precision has also helped the company to condense its chemical consumption considerably. The case study looks at the successful trials of APEX & Qdos models & explores its distinctive features.

Der Antrieb is in control

There must be appropriate interfaces for the vertical integration of sensors and actuators into control, management, and production planning systems, and high-quality data transmission must be ensured. NORD frequency inverters therefore monitor and transmit drive data and also collect information from externally connected digital and analog sensors and actuators.

Process Monitoring Solutions For Boiler-Feed And Cooling Water Streams In Power Plants

Nearly 50 per cent of unplanned downtime in power plants is caused due to contaminants or problems in the chemistry of the water-steam circuit, with corrosion being the primary factor. Every cooling circuit has a unique design and thus its own unique challenges. The specifics of the water che-mistry to be regulated (and therefore the applicable limits) depend on the type of power plant, the cooling circuit design, and construction materials. Timely and effective monitoring of power plant water chemistry is critical for maintaining efficiency and safety. By using online analyzers, operators gain the information they need to accurately identify trends and address operational issues before costly problems arise. In this review, we highlight the importance of such real-time analyzers in boiler-feed and cooling water streams to optimize safety and plant efficiency.

Real-time Communication In The Industrial IoT

State-of-the-art communication architectures with OPC UA TSNAt this year’s Hannover Messe (Hall 9, Booth D33), the Ethernet POWERLINK Standardization Group (EPSG) will demonstrate how interface-free communication can provide seamless connectivity from the sensor layer to the ERP layer and into the cloud. The foundation has already been laid with the companion specification for OPC UA and POWERLINK
