It’s time to take young AKASH KORGAONKAR seriously, who is combining fitness with adventure. His company, RUGGEDIAN, is into new-age sports, adventure and lifestyle management. Citadel finds out more about this exploratory endeavour.
Tf you follow Paulo Coelho’s work, you must have read the following quote – ‘If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine. It’s lethal.’ Every one with a slight exploratory spirit wants to go after that adventure which will satisfy the soul. There is nothing like it. People these days are choosing to go for adventure sports like there is no tomorrow. They look forward to new adventures to soothe their wild spirits. And quite a few talented people are caching on this rather big obsession by coming up with plans for them.
Enterprising young Akash Korgaonkar is one such name, who is combining both for the adventure. He has started a company called Ruggedian, and it is into new-age sports, adventure and lifestyle management. What he aims at doing with Ruggedian is to make the youth go for fitness in a better way. An Ironman Triathlon finisher, he also managed to finish one of the toughest mountain bike rallies – the MTB Himalaya. Talk about being one with his work.
What does the company do? Well, it does organize marathons, obstacle races and corporate training programmes to make fitness more fun. One of the fitness events organised by them for the last three years is the Ruggedian Obstacle Race in the city of Pune during the rains, where thousands come to participate from all over India. And he has a lot to share with the fitness freaks in the city.
