How to invest in property without having to put down big bucks.

Is There An Alternative To Investing In Property?

“You can never go wrong with property,” haven’t we all heard that before? Most South Africans will be quick and adamant in telling you that investing in property is a good idea. This will usually take place around braai fires, where, more than often, pros are exaggerated, and cons underestimated. Truth is that property does indeed state a strong case by, firstly, serving as a good hedge against inflation, seeing as rentals usually increase by at least the rate of inflation each year. The downside to investing in direct property is that it requires time, effort, and capital, things not necessarily at one’s disposal. In addition to that, selling a physical property can take months, and in some cases, years.

What if you had an alternative, a way to somehow invest in property without having to put down a substantial amount of capital, or saddling yourself with dark horse debt? A way that neutralised headaches, like dealing with non-paying tenants, levies, maintenance, building insurance, etc.
