When the iconic Lotte New York Palace hotel underwent a 140-million-dollar renovation in 2014, one of its defining characteristics was a suite designed by Martin Katz. The Jewel Suite—a 5,000-square-foot triplex penthouse—overlooking the Manhattan skyline is a luxurious experience that’s in tune with the jewellery designer’s signature style of glamour. The luminous setting is enticing with its cascading chandelier, cylindrical jewellery displays, and a grand piano—against which we shot Katz’s sparkling jewels for BAZAAR BRIDE. “For the suite, we created floating jewel boxes to allow my designs to live permanently on the walls. The 20-foot Waterfall of Diamonds chandelier comes a close second when it comes to my favourite elements in the suite,” says Katz about the defining features of the suite.
