“After my post-graduation, I began working with a publishing house. I wrote my 2nd book on the side, but with deadlines and stress, I found no time for it. I imagined my life a few years down the line - comfortable in my job, but dissatisfied, earning a steady income, but by dousing the fire within me. I decided I needed to give my dream a chance before I settled.
So I left the job and gave myself two years. In 2016, I published a book with Black Ink. Jobless now, I work each day to build my dream career,” said 23-year-old Mitali Meelan. Today, she is happily working towards turning her hobby and passion into a flourishing business.
Like bindass’ Girl in the City - Meera Sehgal, Mitali and 9 more women have dared to dream big and taken the arduous journey to pursue their true passions. There’s Priyanka Nagre, a budding make-up artist; Geeta Gajelli has been working towards making and selling her own handmade cards; small-town born and brought up Garima Dixit aims to open an acting academy; Simran and Garima Pande Kalia’s love for wanderlust pushed them to follow travel pursuits; clinical psychologist Hemangi Vyawahare wants to use animals and nature to help children be themselves and embrace humanity; Chinmayee Rane, after being rejected onscreen didn’t get disheartened, instead she started her fashion blog that is winning her accolades; Diksha Nisha, an engineer by profession is taking her passion for baking quite seriously; Anoushka Saha dreams of winning people’s hearts through their tummies – open a restaurant that specialises in molecular gastronomy.
