Barkha Shewakramani, founder of the sensational beauty brand Barkha Beauty, talks about her journey, her top beauty picks and about ‘women of substance’
From hitting the scene with Dramaqueen to launching Barkha Beauty, this Dubai-based entrepreneur and self-confessed makeup junkie has come a long way. While shooting alongside models Aishwarya Nayar and Namrata Shroff in their beautiful outfits and flawless makeup, Barkha Shewakramani spoke about all things beauty, and then some. Here’s what she revealed.
Tell us about what went into making Barkha Beauty the great success that it is today.
My search for the perfect non-drying, longlasting matte nude lipstick led me to creating my own brand. We are in the golden age of makeup and everyone is as obsessed about it as I’ve always been. I believe in products that enhance your features and don’t turn you into someone else. It’s my deep understanding of women’s need for a daily pick-me-up in five minutes that led to this point.
What was the idea behind choosing Aishwarya Nayar and Namrata Shroff for this glamorous photo shoot with Louis Vuitton?
Barkha Beauty’s ideal woman is the woman of today. She’s strong, confident and perfectly balances her own culture and western values. From a successful entrepreneur to a multitasking mother, they’re those who believe in themselves, fixing each other’s crowns instead of pulling them down. Aishwarya and Namrata are exactly the type of women Barkha Beauty stands for.
