TELEVISION HOST, SPEAKER, AND FANCY LADY COWGIRL

Being a fourth-generation rancher, Courtenay DeHoff learned the values of integrity, humility, and morality that has carried into her career today. Of her cowgirl upbringing, she says, “The Western way of life prepared me for life in the grandest of ways. Cowboys and cowgirls taught me how to work hard, never take no for an answer, and always go after my dreams. Being raised as a cowgirl is truly one of my life’s greatest blessings.”

While majoring in Agricultural Communications at OSU, Courtenay was also competing on the school’s college rodeo team. Her career path began with an internship at a local television station. While there, she immediately fell in love with being on-air and discovered her passion for storytelling.

This passion led to her being a sideline host for the Professional Bull Riders “Unleash the Beast” tour at Madison Square Garden in New York City in March 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic ended her opportunity with the PBR, but when one door closes, another opens. Shortly after, she decided she wanted to start sharing more of her story on social media and to do so using the hashtag #FancyLadyCowgirl. She credits building her brand as her proudest accomplishment, and says, “I launched Fancy Lady Cowgirl because this Western community that I was raised in told me I no longer fit in. I was told I wasn’t cowgirl enough to belong anymore. I never ever want another woman to feel like they aren’t welcome to wear the cowgirl title.”
