Hurns, whose contract was set to expire after the season, signed a two-year deal that will keep him with the Dolphins through the 2021 season.
The former University of Miami standout signed with the Dolphins in May and ultimately became a starter after rookie Preston Williams went on injured reserve with a knee injury.
With the Hurns extension, the Dolphins had the five wide receivers on the active roster at the time of that Buffalo game — Hurns, DeVante Parker, Jakeem Grant, Albert Wilson and Gary Jennings — signed at least through 2020.
The Hurns extension followed those earlier this year signed by Parker, Grant, cornerback Xavien Howard and guard/tackle Jesse Davis.
Perfect team is No. 1
The NFL Network concluded its “Greatest 100” series with the top 100 teams in NFL history, and it was the 1972 Dolphins that earned top honors.
The ‘72 Dolphins, of course, are the only team to go through a regular season and the playoffs without a blemish on their record.
"Perfection is perfection,” 1972 fullback Larry Csonka said during the video segment accompanying the rankings. “Close? Get a cigar. There's only one team that drinks the champagne.”
The Dolphins had two other of their teams among the top 100 — the 1973 Super Bowl championship team came in at number 28, and the 1984 team that lost against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XIX was number 63.
The rest of the top five after the 1972 Dolphins: 2, the 1985 Chicago Bears; 3, the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers; 4, those 1984 49ers; 5, the 1989 49ers.
