LB determined to carry Oakland into postseason
In three-plus seasons in the NFL, Khalil Mack has already logged more memorable and amazing plays than most players who have spent a decade or more in the league.
From his five-sack performance against the Denver Broncos in 2015 to his interception return for touchdown followed later by a sack-strip-fumble recovery off Carolina quarterback Cam Newton a year later, Mack has compiled a resume that clearly has the makings of a trip to Canton, Ohio written all over it.
And he may just be getting started.
The reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Mack has been on a quite a roll lately and seems determined more than ever to carry the Raiders on his back and into the postseason.
He had sacks in three consecutive games from Weeks 11-13 against the Patriots, Broncos and Giants despite the normal double- and triple team blocking efforts from opposing offenses. While the rest of the Raiders defense has sputtered, Mack has at times been a one-man wrecking crew.
It would be no stretch, either, to say that Mack singlehandedly saved Oakland’s season and the team’s playoff hopes with his sack of Giants quarterback Geno Smith in Week 13, a play that should be on loop on the Raiders’ year-end highlight tape.

‘We have to be a much more detailed football team'
Like so many Raiders fans, coach Jon Gruden found himself searching for answers after the Raiders’ second-half collapse that cost the team a spot in the expanded playoffs.

Wanted: Defensive coordinator
The Raiders didn’t wait long to begin their search for a new defensive coordinator, and it’s becoming clear that Jon Gruden has already narrowed his list down.

NEWS & NOTES
The Raiders had one of the easier schedules in 2020 and got only eight wins to show for it. Things won’t get any easier in 2021, either.
Looking back at 2020 season
The 2020 season will absolutely be remembered for being one of the strangest and most disappointing in franchise history.
Gruden feeling the heat?
“I know there is a big bull’s-eye on my chest, certainly. If the people want to use that as an incentive, then so be it. I worked for Al Davis in 1998. That was pressure. I was 34 years old. I’ve dealt with pressure before. I don’t really feel pressure. I love the excitement and thrill of competing, and I can’t worry about things I can’t control in that regard. I know people will want to step on me and beat me, and that is just the way this league is.”
