A LAST-MINUTE equaliser from Alex Wynter denied Aldershot Town a deserved second victory in five days – while rescuing Eastleigh’s unbeaten start in the process.

Leading 2-1 and seemingly on course to add to their impressive 5-0 victory at Dover Athletic in midweek, the Shots bossed the second half but paid the penalty for missing three good chances that should have rapped up the points.

“It feels like a defeat,” admitted manager Danny Searle after watching goals by Craig Tanner and Alfie Whittingham wipe out the lead Joe Tomlinson had initially given Eastleigh from the penalty spot.

“In the second half we should have killed the game off and gone on to win by three or four.

“We missed three gilt-edged chances after Alfie had put us 2-1 up. We’d have deserved that win, but in the end haven’t got it. It’s very disappointing.”
