Young fires in a blockbuster!

LUKE YOUNG’S block-buster goal ensured a week dominated by Hollywood headlines ended in winning fashion for Wrexham.

Young’s long-range strike proved the only goal in a scrappy game, but a third clean sheet in a row pleased manager Dean Keates.

Keates insists off-the-pitch distractions have had no impact on the players in the week A-list actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s bid to take over the club won approval from supporters.

And he believes the Dragons showed the great character of their own, in terms of grit and resilience at the other end.

“After the two-week shutdown we had, we spoke with the group about resetting and re-grouping,” Keates said. “The lads stood up to what Aldershot threw at us. We showed great character defensively but we played our game as well. In my opinion, we deserved the game.
