The Southern League Division One South side were fourth ahead of yesterday’s fixtures with just one defeat in six.
Lewis, a former left-back for Bash, took over as manager in May from Ollie Cherrett, who led them to 15th last term.
“The plan was always promotion within two years,” Lewis told The NLP. “If it comes sooner, then great.
“I was aware of the strength of the league, we didn’t think it would be easy.
“The management team and the lads are all as one. We’re all pulling in the same direction and we’ve got some great talent all through the team.
“The support has been amazing, home and away. We’re getting 50-60 sometimes on the road.
“The lads always clap the fans and that’s reciprocated, it always feels like a special moment.
“There’s a really good connection between both. It makes a really big difference.”
