MILLIONS of Londoners were today urged to get fully jabbed to stop Covid-19 blighting family gatherings at Christmas and New Year festivities.
Speaking to the Standard, new vaccines minister Maggie Throup also appealed to workers to go to walk-in centres during their lunch break or other times to get inoculated. In one of her first interviews, the former scientist:
Stressed people “shouldn’t be too busy” to help their parents and grandparents get their booster even though life has returned far closer to normality than during earlier phases of the vaccination programme.
Urged women concerned about fertility, as well as those who are pregnant, to get vaccinated, emphasising “it’s far safer than getting Covid”.
Said health chiefs were “not going to give up” in efforts to reach thousands of Londoners yet to have any Covid jab.
Slammed anti-vaxxers for “costing lives”.
