Foster: Probe ‘Collusion' Between IRA & Irish State

Martin urged to act on claims

The North’s First Minister Arlene Foster told the Taoiseach there must be a “fresh examination” into claims of collusion between the State and the IRA.

She urged Micheal Martin to “urgently assist” in “getting to the truth”.

In a letter to the Taoiseach, seen by the PA news agency, Mrs Foster referred to the Smithwick Inquiry which found gardai leaked information to the IRA about two RUC officers.
