NURSING home residents were delighted yesterday as they were able to welcome more visitors and attend outings as Covid-19 restrictions were eased.

Nursing home residents' joy over easing

At centres where around eight out of every 10 residents have received the jab, people are now allowed to have four visits by two people a week.

Organised bus or car outings for residents can also go-ahead in homes where there is a high vaccination level and a risk assessment has been carried out.

There was a very positive atmosphere at 42-bed Glendonagh Nursing Home in Midleton, Co Cork yesterday.
