HOW TO SHOOT THE GREAT INDOORS

There’s no need to worry when the rain is driving against your window and the wind is howling down the chimney. Stay where you are in the warm and dry, grab your camera and tune in to a whole bunch of fun projects that you don’t have to leave the house to do.

Taking photos indoors does have one or two technical challenges to overcome, but once you’ve jumped those hurdles, a brave new world of creative photo art opens up to you. So what do you need, apart from your camera and a lens?

A tripod is essential, because sometimes you’re going to be working in conditions with almost no light! You’ll need a few props, too, and some additional light sources, like a torch or fairy lights. You’ve already probably got most of these items lurking in drawers or at the back of a cupboard.

Beyond these, all you need is a willingness to open up your imagination, and to start thinking differently about how you create interesting and eye-catching photos.
