After working as a consultant engineer, I retired in 2014 to allow myself to focus on photography. My passion is nature and aviation, but astrophotography has always inspired me.
The plan for this project was to photograph the comet NEOWISE at three iconic locations. Having previously travelled to Iceland on five occasions to capture the Aurora Borealis and La Palma to shoot the Milky Way, I knew that I was going to need good luck with the weather, a clear sky and a new moon too. However, this was different as it was a “once in a lifetime opportunity,” so there wasn’t much room for error. Lacock Abbey is just a ten-minute drive from my home and a one-hour drive to Stonehenge and Glastonbury Tor, so I was up for the challenge!
