VR magic:The “Real” Estate
Metro Realty & Interiors|November - December 2016

At some point in our lives, all of us have pored over a sketch called the ‘Floor Plan’ – a rough 2D outline of a future home, and tried to imagine what it would look like in brick and mortar. And for most of us, the home our imagination built would be nowhere close to what we finaBlly got. To bridge this gap between visualisation and reality, two enterprising architects, Gautam Tewari and Tithi Tewari, launched SmartVizX.

VR magic:The “Real” Estate

A unique company which combines together gaming technology, Virtual Reality (VR) and architecture, taking clients into a new world of 3D magic. Metro Realty and Interiors (MRAI) caught up with Gautam for a quick chat on SmartVizX;

MRAI: What’s the story behind SmartVizX?

Gautam: SmartVizX was founded to help people visualise design better. As architects, both Tithi and I have struggled with the issue of conveying our design perception to the client. Realising that traditional visualisation methods are largely passive, pre-defined and not very customer friendly, we wanted to use technology to help improve the entire visualisation experience. In pursuit of the right solution, we met Chandan Singh, who came from a gaming background, and that was our eureka moment. We hit upon the idea of marrying gaming technology with architectural visualisation. As this idea matured further, SmartVizX was born. Once we had taken the decision of building interactivity through gaming tech, VR was a natural progression.

MRAI: How did you arrive at this name?

Gautam: Since we were enabling Smart Visualisation, we wanted that to come out through the name. And we believe we have the edge to stand out in this niche domain, hence the X, symbolising our X factor. (laughs)

MRAI: How does SmartVizX help the end customer?
