Myanmar should be on your next dive bucket list
Myanmar, otherwise known as Burma, is home to 54 million people, and has a rich historical background and a vast array of cultures. From north to south, east to west; from ice mountains to pristine seas, Myanmar is also a one-stop destination for explorers around the world.
Are you a hiking enthusiast? In Kachin State, we have mountains that reach over 5,000 metres, covered by ice around the year.
Are you interested in history and culture? We have stunning World Heritage Sites, such as Bagan.
Are you a photographer that wants to capture locals that row boats with their legs? Please visit Inle in Shan State.
And of course, among these fabulous places, the most important activity that we all want to hear about is scuba diving. As Myanmar has a long coastline of over 2,200 kilometres, there are a lot of well-known and potential dive sites for scuba divers. We can divide these places into three main regions: Rakhine State, the Irrawaddy Division, and the Mergui Archipelago, Tanintharyi Division.
Rakhine State is where the stunning Ngapali Beach is located. Here, there are a few dive centres that offer scuba diving services. Ngapali can be reached by land or air.
