Kia has added another subcompact SUV to its Indian portfolio. It sits above the Sonet and takes on the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Hyundai Venue. So what new flavour does it bring to the market? Let's find out
Ever since it arrived in India, Kia has shown a brave face. The Seltos was a solid challenger, and so was the Sonet. But Kia believes that there is more space in this crowded compact SUV segment, and hence, the Syros.
The Syros sits above the Sonet and is projected to be a unique proposition thanks to its design and utility. Let's delve deeper into what sets this sub-compact SUV apart from the pack. The Kia Syros is based on a reinforced Sonet platform. At 3,995mm in length and 1,790mm in width, it is identical to the Sonet.
However, at 1,680mm in height, the Syros is marginally taller than its sibling, so Kia is giving it the 'Tall Boy' moniker.
1. The Syros is a game changer by virtue of the way it offers space and features for the rear seat passengers. The rear seats are 60:40 split and on top of that they can also be adjusted for reach. This allows it the versatility of offering either space in the boot or space for the passengers at the back. 2. The rear seats are also ventilated and should be a boon in the hot summers. 3. The panoramic sunroof is also a brilliant feature to have. As far as design is concerned, the Syros is brand new and has no similarities to the Sonet. The boxy front end is dominated by the new 'Tiger Face' grille which is very different from the Tiger Nose grille deployed in other Kias.
4. Lots of space in the centre console including a wireless chargerDiese Geschichte stammt aus der February 2025-Ausgabe von Auto Today.
