Instead, she’s going to become one of the greatest monarchs in history. But there’s a long road to travel before she gets that shiny crown placed upon her head. “It’s history. We’re retelling events and lives that are real. We’re not playing fantasy with swords and dragons,” says Alicia von Rittberg (Anna in 2017 anthology drama series Genius), who plays Princess Elizabeth. The German actress adds, “When my agent told me that I’d been cast as Elizabeth Tudor, I immersed myself in history books and read everything on this fascinating woman. I’m an expert now and to be able to play a real-life princess and future queen has been a major history lesson for me.”
