For the 2025 edition of Careers360's B-school ranking, 45 public and 55 private-funded business schools have been ranked. The Indian Institutes of Management continue to dominate the top ranks among public institutions. The top four public institutions and the top three private ones remain unchanged.
Among the private institutions, there are 23 that have not been assigned specific ranks but included within the same ranking cluster as "missing schools". They offer reputable MBA or PGDM programmes and based on previous data, they have been grouped into relevant clusters.
This edition assesses a total of 847 institutions, with the top 100 ranked and more than 512 institutes rated, with 'AAAAA' as the top rating. Here, we only feature institutes that earned a minimum rating of AA+, that is, the ones to fall within the top 50 percentile of B-schools.
Indian states have been grouped into five zones, with B-schools rated and listed by zone, state, and city or town. This allows for meaningful comparisons between institutions within a geographical area.
In states with few rated management institutes or those concentrated in one city, institutions may not be listed by city. In the case of states with few B-schools for rating, the institutions have been listed together.
The Delhi-NCR cluster covers three states and union territories - Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Institutions located in Delhi and the neighbouring towns within NCR have been listed together and also separately, in lists for their respective states. This means that an institution in Gurugram will feature on both Delhi-NCR and Haryana lists.
The standard ranking methodology of Careers360 has been applied to the list of the 100 Best B-schools. Each institution's performance on critical ranking parameters can guide prospective management students in making informed decisions.
