Hollywood Shuts Down During Actors' Strike

Work in Hollywood has come to a halt. SAG-AFTRA—the union that represents 160,000 performers— went on strike July 14, forcing production to cease on nearly all movies and non-reality prime time and streaming TV programs.
It’s also made awards ceremonies an uncertainty and upended release schedules. SAG- AFTRA follows the Writers Guild of America, which has been on strike since May, marking the first time since 1960 that both unions have been on strike at the same time.
