Her ordeal with Tom finally takes its toll on her mental health

Belle King has spent years living with schizophrenia, a mental- health condition that can cause hallucinations and delusions and which she developed in her teens after being imprisoned for accidentally killing her friend Gemma.

Stressful life events have proved a major trigger for the former wedding planner’s episodes, as her family are all too aware, and this week the trauma of recent months comes to a head as she sadly but somewhat inevitably suffers another breakdown.

Already fragile due to the mental and physical abuse inflicted on her by husband Tom, Belle has been further knocked by the death of her beloved dad Zak.
