Watches are meant to be fun, although you will not think so if you have recently been turned down at your local retailer for a piece that you might have had your heart set on. Perhaps the watch is meant for someone special, or a special occasion that calls for just that specific model. It may even be a simple ticker that you have finally found time for, perhaps after pruning your collection to have space and a bit of spare change. We totally understand the sting of that particular kind of rejection, especially if you have spent years cultivating a relationship as you have continued on your merry collecting journey.
On the other hand, perhaps you have simply been placed on a waiting list after registering your interest. What an ignominious fate! We put together entire articles about this subject (see issues #63 and 64) so will not repeat ourselves; however, we will continue to urge you to be patient. Of course, this is of no help or solace if you are in need of a gifting fix – even if the gift in question is meant for you. As luck would have it, there is a cure for all this: buy more watches, just different ones.
