Given the world situation there were understandably less 'operational' aircraft to see but this did mean rather more colour and less grey than usual. On the two 'public' days Saturday and Sunday, the official programme ran to some eight hours of flying and there was certainly something for everyone.
The arrival of the E-4 'Doomsday' 747 was genuinely impressive - an aircraft that big doesn't usually fly a visual circuit - and without doubt the Korean Black Eagles, back a decade after their only other visit to the UK, again showed that they are the masters of jet display teams. It's not often you see an audience as demanding and 'seen it all before' as the FRIAT enclosure rise as one and applaud a display ... three days running ...
