Honesty is the best biennial!
Amateur Gardening
|July 09, 2022
Flowers and seedheads are both delightful, says Ruth

ONE of my top springtime plants is honesty (Lunaria annua), an easy-going biennial that brings welcome early color.
It is easily recognisable, with its long-lasting, abundant flowers in white, purple, or a mix of the two, that turn into the famed 'penny' seedheads much used by flower arrangers.
Sown now, this week's free seeds will start to grow then sit quietly until next spring when they will fill their space with pollinator-friendly flowers.
