You Can Ride The Wave
Women's Health South Africa
|January - February 2023
Life is like the sea - it moves us, shapes us, supports us and awakens us to new shores. Here is what writer Michelle October learnt from the mighty swells.
I've always loved the ocean, been obsessed with it. The waves, the crisp blue of the water and the lushness of nothing but silky salt water captivated me. The way that a human could be glued to a surfboard while perched on a moving body of water always intrigued me. It seemed magical. It's no surprise, then, that I jumped at the chance to take up surfing as part of the Women's Health Staff Fitness Challenge, where we each got to pick a new fitness routine and stick it out for the winter months.
