Clearing ,Smudging & Setting Intentions for Stones
Rock&Gem Magazine|July 2024
Why do you believe what you believe? Are your beliefs true because you choose to believe them? Whether it is religion, science or the metaphysical, your belief and faith make it real to you in mind, body and soul.
MARK OROS
Clearing ,Smudging & Setting Intentions for Stones

Everybody creates their own belief system and although we try to put these systems into categories and form communities around them, our beliefs and faith are as individual as our fingerprints and DNA. They define us in all of our thoughts and actions.

Since we all have different belief systems, we can choose to judge other's beliefs or to be curious about them.

I use a method to prepare gemstones, rocks, and crystals for my friends and clients who desire for their stones to hold a certain purpose, intention or blessing. They believe that the gem, rock, or crystal has energy and will influence their life. Does it work? You will have to ask them.

UNDERSTANDING METAPHYSICAL BELIEFS

The idea that a stone can hold energy and influence is an old belief. These earthly objects, found in the ground, whether shaped or natural, have influenced us in many ways.

We spend our money on them. They inspire us to travel and collect them in all areas of the world. We are collectors, researchers, metaphysical practitioners, or we simply adorn ourselves with stones. Any one of these influences impacts our lives. Take a minute to think about why you read Rock & Gem magazine and how your relationship with rocks and gems impacts your life.

Although I do not use rocks and gems for metaphysical healing, stones do consume my life, just ask my family and friends.

Many people believe that gemstones, rocks and crystals have metaphysical properties because of their chemical composition, crystal structure, shape, color or other attributes.

Fascinating Fluorite A Beginner & Collector's Favorite

Should you be found, be it working on your collection or walking around a mineral show, humming the song \"My Favorite Things\" with the mineral name 'Fluorite' worked into the lyrics, many of us collectors would totally understand, and probably join in. If that's not the case, let's see if we can make that happen.

ROMANCING THE RUBY

Few words are as packed with meaning as “ruby.” While the word refers primarily to the legendary red gemstone, it is also the preferred adjective for red colors of extraordinary intensity and purity. Its association with wealth and royalty conjures romantic images of kingdoms that once flourished in such historical ruby sources as Ceylon, Siam, Burma and India.
