Terms, but with conditions

Dating is hard. New labels make it worse. Ghosting. Nanoship. Pocketing. Let's just focus on the people, shall we?
Sit this one out, Cupid. The best pairing of our time is not Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall. It’s the dating scene and the dictionary. We’ve found terms for every little behaviour that previous generations either didn’t know or dismissed. We started with Ghosting (a date who disappears halfway into courtship). Then, we coined Zombieing (when the ghoster returns). We learnt about Micro-cheating (minor flirtations), Pocketing (hiding a partner from your social circle), Nanoships (short-lived connections) and Kittenfishing (like catfishing but without a fake identity). You know how exes reappear with no intention to reconnect? That’s Paperclipping.
Sigh. All this vocabulary-building and no one’s any closer to finding a good partner. “Honestly, even as a relationship therapist, I find it hard to keep up,” says Kasturi Mahanta. “The rapid introduction of new terminology can make dating seem more complicated than it needs to be.” So, in a world of too many terms, what’s the definition of Enough?
Nuance or nuisance?

This week, we're...
Parenting ourselves. For the first time, more babies are being born to American women over 40 than to American teens. Don't listen to men in the comments - these are both reasons to cheer. Because women are choosing themselves first, and waiting until they're really, really ready to have a kid. This is a win for everyone.

Signing up for the slop
Slop events have come to India. Pick-Me girls are facing off; Adityas are hanging out. But a community based on a joke or viral moment can't last long. Or can it?

A luxurious Odyssey
Amalfi has always seduced visitors — with sirens, cathedrals, scenic views and its la dolce vita charm. Where else can you stay in a 13th-century hotel carved into a cliff?

Here's the tee...
It's the age of buy as you binge. Lines from Euphoria S3 are on hoodies. Himesh Reshammiya caps are cool again. There are totes with The Pitt quotes. It's quick business too. Our toxic trait? Thinking we need all of it

Watch as it unfolds
The thing to learn from the Audemars Piguet x Swatch drama isn't that we need good security, it's that we, on our screens, are part of the drama too

Scammed by the ham
Ham has wowed ancient Rome, flavoured Chinese cuisine and is a delicacy in Spain, where it costs hundreds of dollars. So, why is India stuck eating wet cardboard?
