THE FIRST DETAILS I APPRECIATE, looking at the new, blue Land Cruiser in front of me, are the new headlights. Round again, to celebrate the Cruiser's long heritage - 40 years of proven toughness. It's not only the J70's heritage J40 lights that impress, though; it's also the rest of the front end, from the black one-piece bumper to the dark-coloured alloy wheels. But the major change is internal: Toyota has transplanted the Hilux's 2.8-litre four-cylinder GD 6 turbo diesel into the legend, paired with a six-speed auto.
