The concept of ARM-based Windows PCs isn't new Microsoft's Surface RT was one of the early entrants. However, Windows on ARM lacked robust support for many x86 applications, and ARM processors fell short of Intel and AMD in raw power. Fast forward to today, a new wave of ARM-based laptops powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon. X Series platform are now on the scene, promising significant improvements.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x stands out in terms of build quality and design: With a thickness of just 12.9mm and weighing a mere 1.28kg, this laptop is incredibly portable. Lenovo offers the Slim 7x in Cosmic. Blue, a sophisticated hue similar to the MacBook Air's Midnight color, giving it a premium, professional appearance. The sleek aluminum chassis adds to its durability and elegance, while the MIL-STD 810H certification means it can withstand some wear and tear.

Unlike some other models in Lenovo's Yoga lineup, the Slim 7x does not feature a 2-in-1 convertible design. Instead, it's a classic clamshell laptop with a touchscreen, sporting a notch at the top of the display for easy one-handed opening. The "communication bar" at the top houses both the webcam and IR camera, allowing for minimal bezels without sacrificing functionality.

One of the highlights of the Yoga Slim 7x is its 14.5-inch OLED display, which offers stunning visuals with a 3K resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. The OLED panel delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and an impressive contrast ratio. Additionally, the display supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has a Delta E <1 color accuracy, making it ideal for content creation and media consumption. In a sub-$2,000 laptop, this display is a fantastic value.
