Traditional Fabrics in Goan Garments

Most fabrics and clothing materials traditionally used in Goa were carefully crafted, keeping in mind the region's tropical climate. Given Goa's generally warm weather, fabrics were designed to provide comfort and ventilation. The Kunbi sarees of Goa, developed by distinct tribal groups, were made from locally sourced cotton and silk threads. Interestingly, these sarees were often presented as offerings to deities in religious rituals.
