Despite being geographically diminutive, Singapore dazzles as a crucible of fashion innovation. Our vibrant island nation’s reputation as a dynamic hub of sartorial creativity that punches above its weight can be credited to style mavens who constantly push the envelope.
At the vanguard of the country’s fashion scene are Desmond Lim, editor-in-chief of Vogue Singapore, and Daryll Alexius Yeo, a stylist and creative consultant. Armed with a wealth of experience that spans a broad spectrum of creative arenas, they offer a holistic and refined perspective on the fashion landscape. Their contributions have not only graced the pages of some of the world’s most respected publications, but have also left an indelible mark on the industry.
Robb Report sits down with both gentlemen to explore the quintessence of style, and glean advice on manoeuvring through the corporate world with sartorial grace, authority and a sense of identity.

What have your years of experience working in fashion media taught you about fashion and style?
It taught me about understanding one’s proportions and working with a particular set of rules that suits specific body types. For instance, high-waisted pants are great for shorter guys, while having your T-shirt tucked into your jeans can give you the illusion of a shorter torso and longer legs.
Describe your style and influences.
