Embracing technology is the best way to beat the winter blues. Here's how smart tech recommended by EE can make you positive and productive
SEIZE THE DAY(LIGHT)

As the days get shorter, it’s easy to feel under the weather. Cold, wet weather and lack of sunlight can easily lead to the winter blues. That is, unless you’re properly prepared. As with anything, the secret to surviving the winter is preparation and there’s tech available to make that easier.

It’s amazing how much we depend on natural light for everything from our sleep routine to our mood. So when you’re getting up in the dark, going to work and coming home from work in the dark, it’s easy to let it get to you.

When the weather is bad, it’s tempting to skip the gym and pick up some comfort food, which can end up making you feel even worse. It’s a cycle of events that once we’re past the holidays, can leave you feeling down.

Tech is at hand though, giving you new ways to wake up naturally to a warm light, and give yourself a healthy dose of brightness through the way. With the right tech on board, you can also keep your fitness and routines on track to make you more productive. It can even help you to eat healthier, so you step into spring feeling good about yourself – and not like you’ve just come out of hibernation.

EMBRACE THE SADNESS

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is caused by a lack of daylight, and so SAD lights are the perfect antidote. These daylight panels or bulbs offer a brightness of 10,000 lux to simulate the experience of sunlight. Having one of these next to your desk or sofa can help to energise you.
