NADINE CLEVELY
Founder of Woman’s Warehouse
After working in a predominantly male-dominated space for most of her life, the explicit inequality between men and women within the corporate space weighed heavily on Nadine Clevely’s heart. At the age of 53, she decided to create an environment that not only treats women as equals but uplifts, educates and empowers them. And so, amid Level 5 lockdown, Woman’s Warehouse was born. Today, the workshop-based organisation empowers women and men through education in the corporate and public sectors covering five pillars:
SAFETY
With the purpose of fighting gender-based violence, this pillar offers workshops that equip women with the tools to protect themselves from hijacking or sexual assault. They also tackle relationships and abuse, teaching women how to spot red flags early on and get out and offer support to them even after they have left an abusive situation.
DIY
These workshops are focus on educating women on how to do practical fixes in their homes, such as repairing a leaking tap, which tools to use for minor renovations, etc.
AUTOMOTIVE
Equipping women with the know-how when it comes to cars, this workshop covers everything from how to change a tyre to replacing filters, jump-starting a car and more.
HOUSEHOLD
These workshops tackle the work-life balance, ensuring women avoid burnout due to running households and being overworked.
