Take mental health seriously - Rugman

Uncapped winger Rugman, 30, set the Premier 15s alight last season scoring 22 tries and helping Gloucester-Hartpury lift the title for the first time.

Her blistering performances on the wing will have made the England selectors take notice but Rugman says things need to change inside the setup after feeling let down in previous camps since being called up in 2019.

“There’s a lot of girls going through mental health struggles and I know a couple of the girls have pulled out,” Rugman told The Rugby Paper. “I think it’s a really important part because they offered me no support after I’d been so open with them.

“Talking to England about it, they just didn’t want to know which is so bad especially as you’ve got someone being so open and asking for help.
