ENJOYING a decent portion of dark chocolate five times a week may help stave off type 2 diabetes.
Researchers pored over the diet and health data of 192,000 people, exploring for the first time the difference between the types of treat eaten.
And they found those who ate one serving of dark chocolate five times a week cut their chances of developing type 2 diabetes by 21%.
Their serving size was 28.3 grams which is equivalent to a third of a 90g Green & Blacks 70% cocoa bar or three 70% dark chocolate batons from Hotel Chocolat.
