Hospitals told to dish for Britain

HOSPITALS and schools will be told to buy more British food in an apparent bid to mend Government ties with farmers.

New rules set to be unveiled this week will mean that half of all food served in the public sector must come from UK farms or be produced to the same high welfare standards.

The apparent olive branch comes as farmers are up in arms over Labour's inheritance tax raid.
