Frank McGarvey's family raise awareness of cancer a year on from his death at 66

THE family of former Celtic and Scotland striker Frank McGarvey are calling for more awareness of pancreatic cancer one year on from his death.

The footballing legend passed away aged 66 on New Year's Day 2023 after being diagnosed in October 2022.

His grieving daughter, Jenny Kane, Frank insisted that his family, "need to let people know about the disease".

Jenny, who is mum to Frankie - named after her late dad - has been left "angry" by the "traumatic and painful" ordeal the whole family endured.

We previously told of her claims that Frank's cancer was repeatedly misdiagnosed as indigestion.
