THEY spent a euro on a house in Tuscany for their new show but Amanda Holden also admits she spent a penny in front of her pal Alan Carr as they filmed it.

The pair are back on screens tomorrow for a new series of Amanda & Alan's Italian Job where they buy a dilapidated house and set about renovating it.

And the Britain's Got Talent judge is thankful her friendship with the funnyman is so solid it can withstand the stress of major renovations and her calls of nature.

Comedian Alan had to come to Amanda's rescue when she had to go during filming.

Amanda, 52, said: "I mean, the amount of times this series where Alan's had to put an umbrella up so I could have a wee in the bushes and he's shielding me.

"We looked at each other and went, 'Who else do we know would take all this in their stride?"

Alan, 47, chuckled: "It was a particular low point in that car park, holding up an umbrella, then hearing tinkle, tinkle, tinkle behind the bush. That's a good friend!"

After the success of the first series, which was filmed in Sicily, the duo are donning their hard hats again and testing their DIY skills to the max.

They will join forces with local tradespeople as they tackle the renovation of a run-down historic home, complete with a medieval tower.

The pals came up with the concept and admitted they are delighted it went down well with viewers.

Amanda, a Heart Radio presenter, said: "You see all these makeover shows and everything looks fantastic.

"And then there's me and Alan, who have got a passion for it and have done bits and bobs, but suddenly we're on telly, tiling and bashing walls down and making lampshades, and messing a lot of it up!

"It was just so lovely how everyone embraced it all and accepted us and enjoyed it.
